Rena Giesecke studied architecture in Germany, Japan and Austria receiving a Master of Architecture with a Specialization in Analogue and Digital Production at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria, in 2016. In her Master Thesis “Between material, machine and designer”, she explored the creative potential of robotic processes in combination with material behavior and emergent form. Since 2017 Rena Giesecke is doctoral student at the Digital Building Technolgies Group, Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA) at the Department of Architecture, ETH Zurich. In her research she focuses on using behaviors of liquids to print new spatial formulations.
