Mathias Bernhard is a postdoctoral researcher at the Digital Building Technologies group which he joined in 2015. Previously he was researcher and doctoral student at the chair for Computer Aided Architectural Design CAAD. Before that, he specialized in computational design and digital fabrication with a master of advanced studies MAS in CAAD and while working at the rapid architectural prototyping laboratory RAPLAB, after studying architecture at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne EPFL and at ETH Zurich. His main research focus is on the creation of design instruments that explore the full geometric freedom of additive manufacturing.
