Marco Baur studied architecture with a focus on the development of material systems and digital design methods under the leadership of Prof. Achim Menges and Prof. Jan Knippers at both the Institute for Computational Design and the Institute for Structural Design at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. 2014, with his master thesis – an agent-system-based form-finding software which he codeveloped together with Stefana Parascho – he received an award within the ALGODeQ software competition. After his studies, he worked as a project engineer at Werner Sobek Stuttgart, Germany, and later as a project manager at Werner Sobek New York, USA, on the technical development of complex building envelopes.
