Gearóid Lydon is a civil engineer with research interests in building simulation, thermal energy systems, multifunctional design approaches and life cycle energy analysis. Trained in civil and computational engineering at the Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) in Northern Ireland, his research and teaching work is related to numerical and experimental methods for the integration of energy systems with digital construction. Since 2014, he has worked at the Chair of Architecture and Building Systems (A/S) at ETH Zurich. Together with Prof. Dr. Arno Schlüter, he is responsible for the thermal energy systems research of the NEST Unit HiLo. In June 2018, Gearóid Lydon joined the NCCR Digital Fabrication as an associated postdoctoral researcher.
