Fabio Scotto holds a bachelor degree in Arts and Design from the University of the Arts London, England, and completed the Master of Advanced Studies ETH in Architecture and Digital Fabrication in September 2016. During his undergraduate studies, he developed simulation algorithms to represent wind responsive systems for architectural installations. In his master thesis, he focused on the potential of robotic fabrication for bending glue laminated wood veneers. His interests in computational design and robotic fabrication led him to a collaboration with the Arup Group for a live project on location mapping devices. In January 2017, Fabio Scotto joined the NCCR Digital Fabrication as a Research Assistant the Smart Dynamic Casting project.
