Benjamin Dillenburger is assistant professor of Digital Building Technologies at ETH Zurich since 2016. Previously he was an assistant professor in architecture at the University of Toronto, Canada. His work focusing on programmed digital geometry and 3D printing has attracted international attention for demonstrating new concepts of employing digital technologies in design and construction. The theses he has formulated on the basis of digital design and fabrication processes call classical paradigms into question. 3D architectural printing is one of his key areas of research where his team focuses on investigating the specific performance and tectonic possibilities of high-resolution additive printing processes. This field of investigation has a strong potential to make a significant contributions to new methods of digital fabrication and to the future of architectural construction as a whole.
