Aryan Rezaei Rad
Aryan Rezaei Rad is structural (and earthquake) engineer and granted his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Guilan, Iran, in 2012 and his Master’s from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Iran in 2015.
Aryan has both academic and practical background. He experienced graduate research assistantship in performance assessment of timber frame structures at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and teaching assistantship in structural nonlinear analysis, structural reliability, and Finite Element analysis at Tehran Polytechnic.
Currently, Aryan is a member of collaborative project at NCCR Digital fabrication and carrying out his PhD at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) under the supervision of Professor Dr. Yves Weinand and co-supervision of Professor Dr. Henry Burton (https://www.cee.ucla.edu/profile-burton/). His PhD includes the mechanical characterization of spatial timber plate structures through the experimental tests and development of novel macro models. Aryan has joined NCCR Digital Fabrication in July 2016.
